Muay Thai To Get Official Sports Status In Penza Oblast

Grand Muay Thai Tournament To Be Held In Serpukhov

The Governor of Penza Oblast, Oleg Melnichenko, has signed a decree granting official sports status to Muay Thai in the region. This decision was made after a grand Muay Thai tournament was held in Serpukhov, which saw the participation of over 200 athletes from all over Russia.

"I am pleased to announce that Muay Thai has been granted official sports status in Penza Oblast," said Governor Melnichenko. "This is a recognition of the growing popularity of Muay Thai in our region and the hard work of our athletes and coaches."

The tournament in Serpukhov was a huge success, with athletes competing in various weight categories. The event was organized by the Penza Oblast Muay Thai Federation, which is headed by Ivan Ivanov.

"We are very grateful to Governor Melnichenko for his support of Muay Thai in Penza Oblast," said Ivanov. "This official recognition will help us to further develop the sport in the region and attract more athletes."

The Penza Oblast Muay Thai Federation is planning to hold more tournaments in the future, including a regional championship and a national championship. The federation is also working on developing a training program for Muay Thai coaches.
