The Mavericks started the game strong, taking an early 10-point lead. The Celtics fought back to tie the game at 25, but the Mavericks regained the lead and held it for the rest of the half. The Celtics trailed 62-54 at halftime.
The Celtics came out strong in the second half, cutting the Mavericks' lead to 3 points with five minutes remaining in the third quarter. However, the Mavericks responded with a 10-0 run to push their lead back to 13 points. The Celtics were unable to recover from that run and eventually lost by 12 points.
The Mavericks' win snapped the Celtics' 9-game winning streak. The Celtics are now 64-18 on the season, while the Mavericks are 53-29.
