Xavien Howard: NFL Star Cornerback

Early Life and College Career

Xavien Howard was born on July 4, 1993, in Houston, Texas. He played college football at Baylor University, where he earned All-Big 12 honors in both 2014 and 2015. In 2015, he was named a consensus first-team All-American.

NFL Career

Howard was drafted in the second round (38th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. In his rookie season, he recorded four interceptions and a fumble recovery. In 2017, he had a breakout year, with seven interceptions, 21 passes defended, and a Pro Bowl selection. Howard has continued to be a top cornerback in the NFL, earning three more Pro Bowl selections (2018, 2020, 2021) and two First-team All-Pro selections (2018, 2020). He is known for his athleticism, ball skills, and ability to cover opposing receivers man-to-man.

As of the end of the 2022 season, Howard has recorded 35 interceptions, 138 passes defended, and 12 forced fumbles in his NFL career.

Free Agency

Howard is currently a free agent after the Miami Dolphins released him in March 2023. He is expected to be one of the most sought-after free agents on the market this offseason.
